Firefox is a free, multi-platform web browser.

Unlike Internet Explorer, it has open-source code. As a result, Firefox has attracted an avid development community and is far more secure thanks to the efforts of that community to squash bugs as well as create new functionality.

According to an independent study, in 2006 IE users were at risk^* from online threats 78% of the time, while Firefox users were vulnerable only 2% of the time.

Firefox is user friendly & highly customizable. Besides offering full control over preferences, there are many add-ons & extensions that can add new features or services right on top of the user experience.
